Milano

"Somebody MADE that..." -Amanda (referring to churches...art.... any object we pass)

semi-overcast

Went to Milan Friday morning until sunday night. The train cost around 12 euros one way.
But first things first... WE HAD A DEMON PIGEON as a pet in our courtyard in Bologna.
I don't know a lot about pigeons but I'm almost 100% sure that THIS SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING.
I named him Herbert.... he disappeared a few days later.

Here are some photos that this website has chewed up.

DUOMO

"Milan's Duomo is the second largest Catholic cathedral in the world. Milan Cathedral is 157 meters long and 40,000 people can fit comfortably within. The roofline dissolves into openwork pinnacles that are punctuated by a grove of spires, topped with statues that overlook the city. The main spire is 109 meters high. These can all be investigated up close on a breathtaking walk on the roof. "

Bologna & "Bologna Art First"

Lazy weekend

snow -1 °C

I *think* I have changed the settings so people can comment now.

Wandered around bologna and art galleries. THERE IS SNOW.
Also went to Archeological Museum of Bologna.

Going for gelato... enjoy the random assortment of photos. The photos are better quality but uploading them to this site makes them full of noise.

P.S. I still have yet to see a cat in Bologna...although I hear Venice is the place for cats. I want to find some minions to do my bidding.

P.P.S. Tor you should shower I can smell you from here. Go on Skype.

P.P.P.S. Going to Verona tomorrow.

Florence

Day Trip to Florence with Amanda

overcast 6 °C
View Italy 2010 on AMarcynuk's travel map.

MASSIVE IMAGE POST

Best...Day...(honeymoon)... EVER. Amanda and I as a newly wed couple visited Florence leaving at 6 am by train from Bologna. The trip took about 1 hour because we decided to buy the cheaper and slower train tickets. Saw Michelangelo's David first thing in the morning before it got busy then headed out to explore the city. BEST DAY EVER..... mainly due to cats and masks.

Also I did not expect to be impressed by statues that Ive seen in books hundreds of times... but I WAS. Can't say the same for medieval paintings. Also learnt some new Italian words that I cannot spell. Images posted in chronological order :)

PS. I love cappuccinos and espresso (but to a lesser extend). I have also found these weird dough sugar snacks that I have nicknamed lemon flakies, I am addicted. Ive been told that Ukraine has their own version of the lemon flakies. I must try them. The cheese is amazing here as well. And the wine... I am going to gain 500 pounds and its worth it.
